UNDER MILK WOOD
Dorothea Philips Denys Graham

Dorothea Phillips and Denys Graham have performed in many productions of Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas.  Both appeared in the first theatre production and in the television broadcasts of the production.

Dorothea also appeared in many roles in all but one of the first radio productions and, as Mrs Dai Bread One in the film adaptation.

Denys played Rev Eli Jenkins in the National Theatre production.

At AWL on 7 March 2011, they presented a fifteen-minute montage of scenes from the play with the help of Martin Cort, Rosalind Adler and Mansel David, and went on to share their memories of the early days, in conversation with Paddy Gormley.

We are unable to broadcast more than a few seconds of the play for copyright reasons.  The click-to-play video below includes the discussion, illustrated with some of Angus McBean's photographs of the first stage production and punctuated by three brief extracts from the reading that evening.
