His skills in graphic design and web design have also inspired him to conduct pioneering work in the fields of internet broadcasting and e-learning. 

His work may be explored in depth in his extensive portfolio of websites (below), which include many hours of click-to-play audio, video and animated audio-visual illustrations of his teaching, writing and presenting. 

 

Paddy Gormley is passionate about language.  He particularly enjoys
working in radio, which he views as the "only truly hands-free medium of imaginative communication"

He teaches thinking and communications skills, including both creative and analytical writing.  His teaching is underpinned by his unique models and metaphors for memory, imagination and the creative process

Besides being a long standing member, he was AWL Chairman from 2004-2008

Whilst he no longer serves on the AWL committee, Paddy Gormley continues his work as database co-ordinator, developing the relational database that underpins AWL's financial, member information, scheduling and communications systems.
