Merlin Ward sold photocopiers while writing scripts
and it was between appointments he came up with a film idea and sent it
to Peter Walker, a well-
known producer/director, who took out an option
to buy it. This early success led to scripts being optioned or commissioned
by producers
in the UK, Ireland and Hollywood.
Merlin was determined to produce his
own movie, so in association with Great British Films Limited and Spice
Factory, wrote, co-produced and directed Out of Bounds,
which
was screened on BBC1 in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
In 2010, Merlin sold a supernatural screenplay called The
Widow to Ard Films
but retained the live theatre rights; he has subsequently
written his first play:
The Widow's Ghost.
