Joan Blackham

AWL rehearsal photographs

In 2014, Joan spent two weeks in Kiev, filming the Ukrainian/Russian feature The Battle of Sevastopol, in which she played Eleanor Roosevelt. She later popped up in the penultimate episode of the new Dr Who series. In October, to prove to herself she could still learn lines, she starred as a retired war correspondent in Blown Apart which won the Kenneth Branagh new short play prize at the Windsor Fringe Festival.
